Hitachi Data Systems, Cisco deliver new networking solutions for enterprise storage

Johannesburg, 15 Oct 2003

Following the completion of hardware interoperability testing with Cisco Systems in February, Hitachi Data Systems has concluded a global agreement whereby it will resell the Cisco MDS 9000 range of networking solutions, with full service and support.

According to Fanie van Rensburg, MD of local HDS distributor, Shoden Data Systems, the finalised agreement enables customers to build highly scaleable, networked storage solutions - while simplifying their infrastructure and centralising storage management and security.

"This combination of technologies leads to potentially lower management costs and a higher return on investment," he comments.
