The South African Department of Home Affairs has invested in sophisticated business intelligence technology from SAS Institute SA to facilitate the clean up of its 80 terabyte database in time for the implementation of the proposed Card System in 2006.
The deal, worth R32 -million, is for an Enterprise Intelligence Platform and Professional Services implementation.
The technology will assist with fraud detection, the elimination of bad quality or duplicated data, and ensure that the Department has a single view of the citizen.
