Transferring home movies on video formats to DVD, creating video presentations, or editing existing digital footage with an array of features to create professional quality movies is now possible on a laptop computer with the release of Studio DV Mobile from Pinnacle Systems.
Solely distributed in SA by Rectron, Studio DV Mobile enables users to connect a camcorder to a laptop to capture and edit content, choosing from more than 100 "transitions" or scene change formats, 300 titles and a variety of different "looks and styles".
Studio DV Mobile is supplied with a PCMCIA card and two IEEE 1394 ports to facilitate an easy connection between camcorder and laptop. The package includes Pinnacle`s Studio 8 and TitleDeko software and its video footage-capturing wizard, SmartCapture, to save time and allow easy, drag-and-drop editing from thumbnail formats.
There are a range of special effects to choose from, including 3D transitions, drop shadow titling, neon glows, slow and fast motion, image and colour correction, embossing and polarisation.
The package also includes SmartSound, Pinnacle`s background music generator, which is able to create a soundtrack perfectly matched to the on-screen action. A sound effects (FX) library is included, together with audio editing tools.
After production, the movie can be played back to tape, CDs or DVDs for presentation on PCs and professional systems.
The solution is said to be ideal for executives "on the move" who need to produce professional quality presentations with the minimum of time and effort.
Studio DV Mobile is compatible with Windows 98 SE, Millennium, 2000 and XP.
