The MathWorks today announced Honeywell Engines, Systems and Services (ES&S), a leading developer of global aircraft engine control systems, is deploying The MathWorks embedded code generation technology, based on MATLAB and Simulink, to develop increasingly complex airborne software and systems that meet the FAA`s RTCA/DO-178B Level A certification requirements.
Honeywell joins Motorola, Jaguar, and BAE Systems in a growing list of companies that are using The MathWorks production code products.

The MathWorks provides a complete development environment that employs executable graphical models for specifying and implementing embedded software, rather than traditional methods that rely on paper documents and manual coding. Embedded code generation eliminates the long delays that traditionally occur between software specification and embedded code creation. One of the key benefits to this approach is that specification and design defects are caught much earlier in the software lifecycle than before, thus saving development time, cost and effort. Honeywell can now generate, test and maintain software functionality of increased complexity over 20+ year lifecycles.

The MathWorks partnership and product integration with T-VEC Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of automatic test vector generation tools, was also an important factor in Honeywell`s decision.
