Users of end-of-life Intel Celeron technology now have the option of upgrading their systems, using the Kingston TurboChip 566.
Designed specifically for desktop or mini-tower computers with a Slot 1 design running at 233MHz or higher, the Celeron based TurboChip 566 is an inexpensive and easy way to increase a system`s processing performance up to ninety-one percent. The TurboChip 566 is easily installed into any Slot 1 layout with 66MHz front side bus.
"With the release of the TurboChip 566, Kingston is addressing an aging 66MHz motherboard market," says Ian Rayner, Kingston brand manager at local distributor AXiZ. "The evolution of processor designs have led to the development of the socket 370. With the natural migration to the socket 370, existing Slot 1 motherboards now have the inability to be upgraded. It is Kingston`s goal to prolong the life and maximise the performance of a user`s system, hence the introduction of the TurboChip 566."
The complete upgrade package comes with a low-profile heat sink/fan integrated cooling unit, a pass-through power cord and 2.2V to 3.3V voltage regulator. Kingston`s TurboChip566 is individually tested and backed by a lifetime warranty.
Kingston`s technical support is comprehensive and provided free of charge. Kingston`s website at http://www.kingston.com/turbo/default.asp has detailed product information and purchase referrals for customers interested in the new TurboChip 566. A detailed list of compatible systems is also available on the Kingston web site.
