RCI`s Preferred Vendor Programme has now evolved from a simple manual service involving a handful of vendors into a complete e-commerce procurement hub over the last three months. Hospitality Warehouse (HW), the Joint Venture company owned by RCI and its technology partner, AXS-One, is now officially up and running and resorts are now able to access a wider range of suppliers to suit their needs.
The technology solution provided by AXS-One, TransAXS Procurement, manages the end-to-end procurement cycle. It enables users to purchase directly from electronic shopping catalogues. It also allows the organisation`s purchasing function to maintain local catalogues of products and services. The TransAXS Procurement solution maintains full control of the routing of purchase orders for approval and checking against budgets, all involving a full set of complex and flexible business rules.
"Research done by RCI shows that there is huge buying opportunity simply going to waste, because vendors don`t know with whom to negotiate, and resorts are sometimes unaware of what is available," commented Geoff Ronaldson, GM of Hospitality Warehouse. "By pooling our needs, the timeshare industry can become a force majeure. Vendors have raised a genuine interest to work with us to find innovative solutions specific to the hospitality industry and to drive unnecessary costs out of the supply chain. "Hospitality Warehouse is currently negotiating with over 100 vendors, including some leading names such as Sealy, Instyle, KIC, Eco-lab, Hychem and Alstrom, to name just a few. Within a few months we are confident that this one-stop commerce site will be the most used purchasing hub, where resorts will be able to find at least 80% of the products and services they use at the best possible prices," continued Ronaldson.
The services portfolio will offer banking services, insurance (short-term and employee benefits), and a host of other services, which will eventually be offered to the whole hospitality industry. The partnership with AXS-One will also provide a range of powerful accounting services that include procurement management through to full back office software.
"As an example, refurbishing the two Karos Kruger Share Block lodges has been a new experience with Hospitality Warehouse," added Director, John Brankin.
