Hot Banana unveils multilingual Web CMS
Hot Banana Software has introduced to the market a multilingual content management plug-in that automates the process of translating and publishing Web site content into multiple languages, writes the Gilbane Report.
"From the Hot Banana interface, site publishers can now send Web pages, portions of Web pages and even entire Web sites to an XML-compatible translation memory system (TMS), such as D'ej`aVu, Trados or SDLX. Once human translators have edited the content in their TMS of choice, their translation work is sent back to Hot Banana's Web CMS for publication," explains the article.
The translated content, navigation, metadata, pictures and links appear in the same layout as the original pages, it adds.
Mambo encourages women
Popular open source content management system (CMS) Mambo has announced plans to encourage greater participation of women in the project teams, according to Content-Wire.
"The open source world is not much different from other software development," says core development team member Lynne Pope. "We have a lot of women using Mambo yet statistically, few get involved with the project - we intend to change this."
Mambo, like most open source development projects, has tended to be very male-dominated. However, Pope adds many women are not comfortable with just joining in on the forum when they first come to Mambo, so it looked for a way to provide a more welcoming environment targeted specifically at encouraging greater participation of women.
EMC's embeddable content management platform
Storage vendor EMC has launched what it claims is the first embeddable enterprise content management (ECM) platform designed for the original equipment manufacturer market.
"Documentum OEM Edition is designed to help software developers implement EMC's Documentum as the content management foundation for any type of application that handles content," writes the UK's WhatPC?
These range from accounts-payable and contracts management applications, to vertical applications in life sciences, aerospace, financial services and energy.
