HP is expanding its TippingPoint NX Series Next Generation Intrusion Prevention System (NGIPS) portfolio.

The bolstered portfolio will feature appliances that accelerate the detection, identification and mitigation of threats.

According to the brand, network security is often unable to mitigate and block disruptive attacks, noting that enterprises need complete security coverage from the data centre to the small branch office, while maintaining performance. "The boom in cloud and mobile applications has put the pressure on network security operations to provide the highest-speed networks while maintaining security efficacy," says Lorna Hardie, enterprise security products sales manager for HP SA.

The new solutions enable network security operations teams to locate threats quickly and accurately, without slowing network traffic, says HP, adding that the software provides clients with flexibility, ensuring business continuity in the event of a hardware failure.

"HP TippingPoint continues to deliver innovative network security solutions that address rapidly evolving security threats without adding complexity, cost or resource consumption to the data centre," Hardie concludes.

HP's S7500NX NGIPS, S6200NX NGIPS and S2600NX NGIPS appliances round out the HP NX family and will be available worldwide soon.
