HP announces additions to its family of attractive scanners for office and home users

Hewlett-Packard Company, the No.1 world-wide scanner sales leader, has announced that it has expanded its line of scanners for small- and home-office (SOHO) users, and also for photo enthusiasts, with the HP ScanJet 5370C scanner. The HP ScanJet 5370C scanner, features exceptional image quality with 42-bit colour depth and 1200 dots-per-inch (dpi) optical resolution; powerful, easy-to-use for scanning control; and an active lighted transparency adapter.

The HP ScanJet 3400C and HP ScanJet 4300C scanners were also released specifically for families and home offices. Both models feature exclusive HP PrecisionScan LTX software with "scan to Web" capabilities; both dual USB and parallel connectivity; and fast, easy photo quality results with 36-bit colour depth and 600-dpi optical resolution.

Outstanding image quality

The HP ScanJet 5370C scanner offers professional results with 42-bit colour depth and 1200-dpi optical resolution, providing twice the scanning power of standard 600-dpi scanners. The HP PrecisionScan Pro 2.5 software with integrated multi-language Optical Character Recognition (OCR) optimises images and converts hardcopy documents into editable, electronic files, ensuring high-quality images and accurate text conversion for business documents. The HP PrecisionScan Pro software offers scanning control, providing guidance for novice users and flexibility for expert users.

Powerful Accessories and Software Package of the HP ScanJet 5370C With the included active transparency adapter, users can easily scan negatives, 35mm slides and transparencies up to 125mm x 125mm. An optional 25-page automatic document feeder, provides hands-free scanning for documents up to 216mm x 355mm. The HP ScanJet 5370C scanner for PC includes the following software designed for SOHO and photo enthusiast users:

Easy to use

The HP ScanJet 5370C scanner features four front-panel buttons to simplify scanning, colour copying, e-mailing and faxing.

Installation set-up for the scanner is simple with dual USB and parallel connectivity for PC. The ScanJet 5370C scanner is compatible with Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98. Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional and above.

Convenient home-office colour copies

The HP ScanJet 4300C scanner offers powerful features for home-office users, including convenient front-panel scan and e-mail buttons, and a colour-copy control panel with LCD display.

The HP ScanJet 4300C scanner is the first scanner in its price range to offer colour and black-and-white copying directly from scanner to printer without the need for user interaction with a PC. The PC must be on, but requires no touch to create the copies. The scanner`s convenient copy control panel allows users to select up to 99 colour or black-and-white copies.

The HP ScanJet 4300C and 3400C scanners support Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98. The HP ScanJet 4300C also supports 2000 Professional.

The HP ScanJet 3400C makes it quick and easy for families to scan and share photos or to store documents. Featuring an innovative design with a translucent lid, the HP ScanJet 3400C scanner adds colour and style to any workplace.

With simple one-touch scan, colour copy and e-mail buttons. New HP PrecisionScan LTX software with integrated multi-language OCR guides users through a simple five--step scanning process to optimise images and convert hardcopy documents into editable, electronic files.

Powerful Software Packages of the HP ScanJet 4300C and 3400C The HP ScanJet 3400C and 4300C scanners contain software packages for image editing and creative projects, including the following:

The HP PrecisionScan Pro software for the ScanJet 5370C scanner and the HP PrecisionScan LTX software for the ScanJet 3400C and 4300C support HP`s proprietary "Scan to Web" technology.
