The world`s top producer of calculators, Hewlett Packard, has for the first time in its history released a keenly priced non-programmable scientific calculator for business and school users.
The new HP 6S and HP 6S Solar represent the company`s first foray into the low-priced market and combines attractive, functional styling with the guaranteed quality of its more expensive stable mates. Priced below R100, the calculators` stylish metal-finish and Functionality for sales and business users, makes the new range of non-programmable calculators affordable enough for broad use within an organisation.
"In conjunction with this, the exclusivity of the HP brand-name will also make them an ideal corporate gift," says Gregg Goosen, HP calculator product manager for Siltek Distribution Dynamics (SDD), the sole distributor of HP calculators to the trade.
"HP have thus far been globally renowned for their top-of-the-range science and financial calculators, but says pressure from suppliers and users to supply a non-programmable scientific calculator has prompted HP to fill the requirement," explains Goosen.
At R89 the HP6S boasts a 10+2 LCD display, fraction calculation - which is the most demanded school function - and a handy variable statistics function for business users. A host of other features ensure that tough calculations are made simple.
The HP 6S Solar retails at R10 more and combines these features with the added benefit of a solar panel - extending the life of the calculator`s batteries indefinitely. Both models are sold with soft carry-cases.
"HP have released a range of calculators to fill a niche in the low cost market, but at the same time has ensured that its reputation for quality is maintained. The result is a good looking, reliable calculator with broad appeal ranging from school pupils to business executives," concludes Goosen.
