Hewlett-Packard Company has introduced a new range of business print solutions - the HP Business Inkjet 2200/2250 printers. The HP Business Inkjets provide speed, exceptional colour and monochrome print quality, and reliable network functionality in a strong, cost-efficient platform to support the needs of workgroups and power users in business environments.
The HP Business Inkjet printers have been designed with the needs of both the IS managers and power users in mind, providing all the network capability and page description language support that is standard in laser printers, with high quality print output.
All HP Business Inkjets incorporate the unique HP High Performance Architecture (HPA), which dramatically speeds up inkjet printing by offloading print processing from the PC to the printer and compressing print files. HPA also delivers an improved return-to-application time and ensures more consistent colour matching.
The HP Business Inkjet 2250 features the first ever dual-processor architecture for inkjet printers with two 96 MHz processors, to make the printers ultra efficient and reliable. The printer also comes with HP PCL5 and HP Postscript 2 as standard. The HP Business Inkjet 2200 is upgradeable to the dual-processor architecture and the page description languages. The HP Business Inkjet 2250 printer can be upgraded easily with any internal EIO print server for enhanced network functionality.
For ultimate network connectivity, the HP Business Inkjet 2250TN ships with the HP JetDirect 600n EIO internal print-server card with support for all major networking protocols and operating environments. It also comes with an additional 250 sheets paper tray providing a unique- capacity of 500 sheets for inkjet printers.
"Combining robust networking, colour printing and business-focused support, HP Business Inkjet printers are a new class of printers that will reinforce HP`s colour leadership in the office," said Wim Heuninck, HP sales & marketing manager, hard copy products. "Traditionally inkjet printing has not been a truly viable option for a networked environment. With this printer range we have addressed that issue by equipping the HP Business Inkjets with all the network functionality that customers need and today miss in conventional inkjet and low-end color laser printers."
Using HP Web JetAdmin the printers can be configured and monitored from anywhere in the network, making them easy to install and configure, and centralising print network management. Other features that meet the needs of small-to-medium-sized workgroups include a high-capacity input tray (250 sheets), a duty cycle of up to 10,000 pages per month, expandable memory up to 88MB, and robust network capabilities.
High-performance, Low-cost, Modular Ink-delivery System HP Business Inkjet 2200/2250 printers set a new standard as HP`s fastest, mid-volume colour printer for small workgroup environments, with print speeds of 15 pages-per-minute (ppm) black and more than 14 ppm for colour.
Colour printing has been seen as a high-cost practice. The new HP Business Inkjet 2200/2250 printers balance the equation in businesses` favour, using innovative technologies to ensure more printing for less outlay.
The latest generation of the HP Modular Ink Delivery System can be found in the new HP Business Inkjet 2200/2250 printer series in the form of the HP No. 11 modular supplies. The system features four HP No. 11 printheads (one for each of black, cyan, magenta and yellow) and three HP No. 11 ink cartridges (cyan, magenta and yellow). The black ink in the system is provided by the HP No. 10 ink cartridge.
The separate printheads are designed to have an extended life. Each printhead will work efficiently throughout the life of at least nine original HP ink cartridges, meaning users will have to change them far less regularly, saving time, hassle and cost.
This means 1,750 pages can be printed in black and colour before having to replace a single cartridge, resulting in a cost per page that is similar to current HP Color LaserJets` costs. The printheads are designed to last 1.5 years, or 16,000 pages for the black printhead and 24,000 pages for the colour printheads.
The print heads found in the HP Business Inkjets produce sharp text and photo-quality graphics from smaller ink drops (Micro-tiny 4 picoliter CMY ink drops and 18 picoliter black ink drops produce sharp, life-like image quality and high quality text, even in FAST mode) utilising HP`s Enhanced Colour Layering Technology with HP PhotoREt III.
HP PhotoREt III colour layering and ColorSmart III technologies give true-to-life photo images on any type of paper. For optimum results HP also offers a complete range of speciality media, including HP Premium Photo Paper for reproducing true photo-quality prints.
