HP busy with Technology@work

Frankfurt, 28 Apr 2010

HP's annual business technology conference, Technology@work, kicked off in Frankfurt this week.

It brings together the best minds in technology and provides thought leadership on interactive networking and solutions to meet business imperatives.

According to HP, Technology@Work allows partners, customers and the media, to get up close and personal with the company's latest technologies, software, services and solutions.

Wolfgang Wittmer, SVP and GM of enterprise servers, storage and networking EMEA, said in his welcome address that Technology@work helps organisations use technology more effectively to drive success, reduce operational costs, minimise risk and produce business advantage.

Themed “realise the future”, this year's event focuses on three areas - line of sight, innovation and elasticity.

“Business success requires organisations to be able to turn into information, information into insight and insight into advantage. Businesses need to sort through the plethora of information to find the best course of action,” Wittmer says.

Speaking of innovation, he said IT companies are expected to help their to create new opportunities and capitalise on those that present themselves. They need to deliver innovation that will drive time to revenue and reduce the cost of lost time, opportunity and effort through the use of technology.

Wittmer says IT needs elasticity to be able to scale up and down to meet demand. “Technology needs to provide an environment that returns to peak form after being compressed or stretched; one that can instantly adjust to dynamic business demands.”

HP is positioned as the best vendor to enable customers to achieve better business outcomes, said Wittmer. He added that this year's Technology@work will feature several exciting announcements around converged infrastructure, networking solutions and energy efficiency in the centre.

The event is the 14th for HP, and has 2 500 registered delegates. “We've made sure that the event will deliver to delegates the latest information about what the company is doing in the enterprise server, storage and networking space, as well as previews of the exciting innovations that are about to come out from our labs,” says the company.
