HP expands printer range

For the first time in EMEA, HP is featuring the HP Scitex FB7500 and HP Scitex FB6050 printers at the Fespa show in Amsterdam, according to GraphicRepro.

Designed to provide screen printers with an easy transition into printing, the HP Scitex FB7500 printer can print 105 1.2m by 2.4m sheets per hour.

As of 12 May, the HP Scitex FB7500 printer will be shipping worldwide.

PODi and Dice to merge

PODi, the digital printing initiative, and Dice, the Digital Imaging Customer Exchange, have decided that the two member-supported organisations will merge and move forward under the management of Caslon, a PODi Affiliate, reports WhatTheyThink.

When the merger is completed, members will enjoy the full resources of both of these prominent digital print industry organisations.

Rab Govil, president of PODi and Caslon, says, “PODi has focused on supporting marketing and service provider members with a strong portfolio of business strategy, self promotion, sales training, case studies, and research tools.”

Enhanced support for XPS

Zoran's IPS DDK 3.0 print driver development kit has been enhanced to support the XPSDrv print path in current and future Windows operating systems, EarthTimes reports.

The enhancements include support for Windows 7, and provide improved capability for laser and inkjet printers and multifunction peripherals.

In addition to a full graphical user interface, the IPS DDK 3.0 print driver development kit delivers page and device previews, watermark generation, N-up formatting, complex booklet printing, reversed ordering, manual duplex, scaling and other features.
