Moving to drive even more business through its local channel, Hewlett-Packard southern Africa has appointed network integration specialist SNS Consultants as a Global Partner for the HP OpenView range of enterprise maintenance and management solutions.
Global Partner status is awarded to HP`s premier business and technology partners and SNS Consultants - a company recently incorporated into the Dimension Data group - ranks as one of only such operations eight worldwide.
SNS is set to focus on the provision of systems, performance and network management solutions. As a Global Partner operating in the Australasian, European and African markets, it will have direct access to HP`s international OpenView support network.
Gary de Menezes, the software business manager at Hewlett-Packard southern Africa, believes SNS is well positioned to help HP meet its stated goal of generating 80 percent of sales using the indirect model. He also believes the company`s professional team will broaden HP`s market penetration through enhanced service levels and value added technical consulting capabilities.
"There is a huge corporate demand for continuous computing on mission-critical applications and systems. HP is therefore working with channel partners such as SNS on the `five 9`s, five minutes` initiative - the goal being to provide 99,999 percent uptime and only five minutes downtime per annum," he says.
"SNS, having been a solution development partner for many years, understands how OpenView can assist in optimising enterprise uptime and efficiency - one of the reasons it is now a Global Partner."
