HP extends software scope

The transformation of Hewlett-Packard from a printer company to a software firm seems to be becoming a reality, writes Economic Times.

HP has unveiled a solution that helps IT managers run their operations with more financial accountability, pipping rival IBM and other players that address individual segments of the problem.

Called IT financial management (ITFM), the solution integrates three key components - project and portfolio management, financial planning and analysis and configuration management systems.

Web-based PM tool for SMEs

Software provider Projecturf has unveiled a scalable and affordable Web-based project management tool called Projecturf with unlimited storage space that is browser, platform and database independent, states PMForum.

Projecturf was specifically designed to support the project management needs of small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in all industries.

The task software allows SMEs to define initiatives and projects, automate processes, and distribute through a secure online environment.

AceProject 4.7 offers online PM

Websystems has unveiled AceProject 4.7, featuring project portfolio management, workload management and communications features, says PR.com.

“AceProject 4.7 is packed with major features, and minor improvements that will dramatically improve the user experience with this project management system,” says Daniel Raymond, CEO of Websystems.

Managing the project portfolio in a single place, AceProject 4.7 now includes a new section for project portfolio management.
