HP eyes India for market growth

The company has unveiled cloud-based printers that it says would help customers get printouts of documents anywhere in the world.

Developed by the company's research and development team in India, HP sees India as a key market to drive its growth.

It sees the global printing market growing to $175 billion by 2013. Services and content is also expected to be worth $62 billion and $55 billion, respectively, by 2013.

According to Hindustan Times, while the services improve efficiency and cut costs for customers, it also helps firms reduce carbon footprints by using fewer energy-guzzling machines, Vyomesh Joshi, executive VP, IPG, said.

Meanwhile, Efy Times reveals that the team has also been involved in developing the first version of IPG's Web platform and the first set of applications for low-end consumer printers allowing users to undertake paper-triggered web tasks.

“Innovation at HP is allowing consumers to leverage the Web and e-commerce applications to simplify transactional activities, increase productivity and enriching lifestyles,” said Joshi.
