Ready for the CCO?
As businesses rely more on IT as a driver of business decisions and growth, business continuity has started to command attention higher up the corporate food chain, reports Continuity Central.
One indicator of the growing importance of business continuity is the new role of chief continuity officer or CCO.
Although today very few organisations have a CCO in place, the appointment of a board-level executive to oversee business continuity is a trend that will grow - and with good reason.
The Reserve Bank of India issues business continuity guidelines
The Reserve Bank of India has issued guidelines to all scheduled banks in the country, informing them of the business continuity measures that must be in place to ensure quick restoration of banking services in areas affected by natural calamities, reports Continuity Central.
The guidelines were issued as a follow-up to recent recommendations made by an Internal Working Group set up by the Reserve Bank.
The Reserve Bank says banks have a duty to provide customers with uninterrupted access to bank accounts and must facilitate the opening of new accounts by persons affected by natural disasters.
