HP ProCurve has integrated the Colubris' product line into its ProCurve product portfolio.

Speaking at a press conference in Dubai, Alaa Al Shimy, HP ProCurve's GM for the Middle East, said the Colubris acquisition allows ProCurve to deliver a stronger wired and solution and allows for seamless integration between the two.

The company also unveiled the MSM410 single- 802.11n wireless access point, which is designed for discreet installation and enables high-bandwidth applications across a network.

Together, the Colubris product line and the MSM410 will extend ProCurve's reach to customers in the vertical markets, enabling it to target the hospitality, transportation, healthcare, manufacturing, service provider and education vertical markets, said Shimy.

Dominique Bonnotte, HP Procurve's EMEA business development manager, said the company will specifically target the hospitality market, which according to him, “is huge within the EMEA region”.

In SA, ProCurve is focusing on the hospitality and government verticals, and has already won a contract to install ProCurve's Adaptive Network solution within the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, Bonnotte added.

The company was recently recognised as a provider for local and wide area networks for both SITA and SITA's clients.

Colubris' local presence is South Africa is already strong, with Duxbury the major distributor of both Colubris and ProCurve solutions, added Bonnette. Looking forward, authorised distribution channel partners will be Axiz, Duxbury and Tarsus, which are currently the authorised distribution partners for the HP ProCurve product range.
