HP and official distributor, Rectron, have introduced the HP Deskjet 5740 and 6543 colour inkjet printers that are both designed for technology-aware home or business office users that require printing of daily documents, e-mails and production of quality photos.
Both devices offer, for example, photo printing - with or without borders - of up to 4 800-optimised dpi as well as optional six-ink colour printing with HP Photoret IV precision technology - virtually grain-free photos that will last for generations.
Looking at the Deskjet 6543, it features high-speed printing of up to 30ppm minute in laser-quality black text, or up to 20ppm in colour. Control print costs and minimise cartridges changes with the included high-capacity black print cartridge, plus reduce paper costs by printing on both sides of a sheet with the optional automatic two-sided printing accessory.
The Deskjet 5740 offers printing of up 26ppm and 18ppm in colour, which is ideal for high volume or urgent printing.
Also, both printers enable the creation of photos with or without borders on 10 x 15cm, Panorama, A4 and double A4 (215 x 610mm) using brochure and photo papers.

Importantly, both printers feature the following productivity-enhancing operations:
* Easy access to key tools via intuitive control panel - no need to search through software;
* On-printer controls to select print quality and speed;
* Save time and ink - stop jobs printing using the one-touch print cancel button;
* Ink status display alerts before inks run out;
* Print backup mode keeps printing even if one cartridge runs out; and
* Automatic paper type sensor optimises settings.
The Deskjet 6543 also connects to desktops via an additional front USB port.
