HP intros IT suit for CIOs
The suite includes software and services designed to provide chief information officers with a dashboard, dubbed Executive Scorecard, of key performance indicators from around the actual and virtual network.
This enables problems like bottlenecks to be identified much more quickly and eliminated.
According to ZDNet, the suite and its views into operations via accurate metrics, rather than a jumble of spreadsheets, also sets up the era of grasping true IT costs at the business process level, and therefore begins empirical costs-benefits analysis to properly evaluate hybrid computing models.
Knowing your current costs - in total and via discrete domains - allows executives to pick the degree to which SaaS, cloud and outsourcing form the best bet for their company.
IT Executive Scorecard pre-loads data automatically from HP's own applications, and through technology from SAP and Business Objects, it can also pull in data from any source within the IT environment, says CRN
Through this functionality, customers can do a TCO calculation and make adjustments as needed, Piet Loubser, HP software senior director of product marketing, said.
