Tech Forum, HP's largest event for users of its commercial and enterprise business solutions, kicked off in Las Vegas, on Monday.
According to HP, the 2010 agenda tackles the realities of tough economic times, focusing on IT investments that have the greatest impact on the business itself. “This year's event is themed Converge, Innovate, Transform,” says HP.
The company says the event has evolved as IT increasingly drives business differentiation and competitive advantage and now features a dedicated business track. “Sessions will focus on technology implementation and integration, as well as reducing complexity, resource requirements, and costs in order to shift IT budgets toward innovation.
“Participants will come away a leap ahead in how to turn technology innovations into world-class business solutions,” says HP. “Developed by IT professionals for IT professionals, the conference delivers substantive, in-depth information for real-life use.”
This year's Tech Forum includes 14 'solution' tracks, including sessions that will explore how specific products or technologies solve a business problem.
Hot topics include infrastructure and desktop virtualisation, business intelligence, and unified communications. “Potentially transformative technologies,” says HP.
In addition to tracks and sessions, the event features an expo aimed at sharing knowledge among delegates, and discovering technologies, services, and solutions.
Over and above the breakouts, tutorials, demos, labs, and special trainings, delegates will also find opportunities to share their experiences and speak one-on-one with those driving HP's strategy.
Says HP: “Special sessions will include an executive showcase on converged infrastructure in action, applying converged infrastructure in hybrid computing environments, and storage for the converged infrastructure.”
Another highlight will be the keynote address by Dreamworks CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg, who will explore “the creative frontier where film arts and technology meet”.
