HP, Microsoft for SMEs
HP and Microsoft unveiled a slew of new products that consist of HP hardware integrated with Microsoft business applications that come pre-configured, reports DataCentre Dynamics Focus.
The new products aim to enable IT to deliver business applications as quickly as possible. The companies say some of the appliances take as little as one hour to get up and running.
The solutions include two versions of a data warehouse appliance - one for enterprises and one for SMEs, a business decision appliance, a messaging appliance and an appliance that will enable cloud-based database delivery.
Jaspersoft avails Web apps suite
Jaspersoft, a provider of the business intelligence (BI) software, has released Jaspersoft 4, a BI suite designed for Web applications, states CBR.
It leverages a new modular user interface architecture to deliver an environment for building and deploying BI.
Jaspersoft 4 accelerates the process of bringing BI to users by separating the content and presentation layers in line with current web application standards. The new application features a new GUI for rich visual dash-boarding and self-service features.
ABB acquires Obvient Strategies
Power and automation technology company ABB is acquiring Obvient Strategies and adding its solutions to the Ventyx software portfolio, says EE Times India.
The transaction enhances ABB's software offering for asset management, power distribution automation and smart grid applications.
Obvient's software and services are designed for industries and utilities with geographically dispersed assets. The business intelligence software collects, analyses and reports real-time as well as periodic information. This supports decision making and helps users to optimise operations.
