HP, MySpace sign printing deal
HP has struck a deal with MySpace to have its printing services integrated across multiple areas of the online social network, including all photo sections, reports Informationweek.
The agreement, unveiled at HP's annual Imaging and Printing Conference in San Diego, opens up millions of MySpace's users to HP, which can offer to print photos stored on MySpace profiles.
The first stage of the partnership will have an HP-branded print button that enables MySpace users to preview and print photos directly from their profiles.
National Graphic unveils 3D Web site
An application on National Graphic's Web site allows consumers to upload two images and have them printed together using a patented technology that tricks the eye into seeing either one picture or the other, states JSonline.
The company is promoting the technology for before-and-after posters showing, for instance, an old wedding photo that appears to flip to a more recent picture of the same couple.
The automated process minimises hand work for National Graphic and offers an opportunity to maximise use of the large-format lenticular printing equipment that the company acquired in March.
