HP Networking names country manager

Johannesburg, 10 Feb 2011

Graham Vorster will be taking over the position of country manager for SA HP with immediate effect, HP revealed this morning.

He will be taking over from Amin Kayal, MEMA HP Networking regional manager, who has been acting country manager after Lorna Hardie left the position late last year. Hardie took a position on the HP global account sales.

The MD and Enterprise Business lead, HP SA, Frank van Rees says Vorster will be working as an integral part of the HP Enterprise Business management and the Enterprise Servers and Storage team.

“He has an excellent track-record and will help to drive future growth for HP Networking in South Africa. His extensive experience in enterprise business, and channel management makes him an excellent fit for this role,” he adds.

HP says Vorster has been in the ICT sector for over 20 years. “He has joined the HP Networking team from Alcatel-Lucent SA where he was employed as the CEO of SA office,” it says.

The company goes on to say Vorster has been involved in numerous large account engagements across the provider and enterprise sectors, as well as various strategic channel engagements across a variety of ICT and industry verticals. “He has also served as a C-Level executive at various multinational and local organisations.”

Last year, HP acquired hardware networking vendor 3Com and its network switching, routing and security solutions have been fully integrated into HP Networking.

HP ProCurve, 3Com, TippingPoint and H3C have converged to form a new unified unit branded as HP Networking.
