Rectron has announced the immediate availability of HP`s compact Photosmart 145 and 245 printer series that enable direct printing from any digital camera.
Both the printers are designed for families who require fast printing without being tied down to a PC.
Basically, users can insert their digital camera memory cards and print the selected photos. The printers support all memory cards, which include Compact Flash types I/II, MultiMedia, Secure Multimedia and Sony Memory Stick.
Looking at portability, the 145, for example, is only 22cm in width and weighs 1.3kg.
"The Photosmart 145 is ideal for the South African mobile workforce that needs compact but functionality-rich technologies," comments Zandr'e Rudolph, HP product manager at Rectron.
"The Photosmart 245 offers printing of up to 4 800-optimised dpi, while HP`s Photoret III precision enables smooth colour transitions and realistic flesh tones.
"Users can also make use of the 254`s `wallet size` printing - four on one 10x15cm print," he says.
The 145 and 245 Photosmart printers also feature intuitive control panels with respective mono and colour LCD screens.
