Adhering to the increasing digital demands of SOHO users locally and internationally, HP and official distributor Rectron have introduced the Scanjet 4070 Photosmart digital flatbed scanner that converts photos, slides, negatives and transparencies into high-quality digital images.
Also introduced is the Scanjet 5590, which replaces Scanjet 5550 and caters for SOHO users that require digitised multi-page paper documents, fast and automatic processing of two-sided documents as well as the versatility to scan transparent materials.
Looking closely at the 4070, the scanner allows users to place stacks of up to 12 photos (10X15cm) in the photo holder and can scan 4 X 35mm slides or two strips of negatives/transparencies at once.
The one-touch `scan photos` or `scan negatives` buttons digitise images in the photo door, or choose `scan` via software to capture larger photos or A4 documents. Also, the 4070`s Image Zone software enables users to edit, enhance and organise their digital images.
"Today`s SOHOs are demanding price-competitive, functionality-rich offerings that enable them to conduct their businesses in a similar way than their larger counterparts - requirements which the Scanjet 4070 Photosmart definitely adheres to," comments Zandr'e Rudolph, HP product manager at Rectron.
The new Scanjet 4070 features the following photo-quality imaging functionalities:
* Scan and copy at up to 2 400dpi resolution and 48-bit colour for bright, true-to-life images and crisp, sharp text;
* Produce scans and copies from photos, graphics, drawings or documents;
* Built-in CCD technology offers enhanced results from 3D objects such as open books and framed pictures; and
* Save time re-typing - convert text into editable documents with Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
