Tarsus Technologies has announced the immediate availability of seven new notebook ranges from HP designed to meet the needs of the most demanding users in both the value and enterprise segments.
Starting with the value segment, which is dubbed HP`s Essential series, two notebook ranges have been launched to complete the spectrum. From desktop replacement notebooks (dubbed mobile desktops) through to mid-range units that offer the best performance and mobility (dubbed mobility performance) through to the thin and light notebooks (dubbed true mobility).
"The two new models that have been introduced in the Essential Series, namely the NX8220 and NX6110, are designed to fulfil the needs of users in the performance mobility and true mobility spaces," says Jason McMillan, HP PSG and IPG business unit manager at Tarsus Technologies.
"The first of these new units, the NX8220 is available in a range of processor, memory and disk capacities. This unit also makes use of Intel`s 915PM Express chipset, ATI`s Radeon X600 graphics controller (either 64MB or 128MB) and features an SD Card reader. From a visual perspective, the 8220 is presented in an aesthetically pleasing magnesium casing and comes with a 15.4-inch WXGA or WSXGA screen," McMillan continues.
Moving onto the NX6110, HP`s new solution in the true mobility space, customers are once again given the option of choosing from multiple processors, RAM capacities and drive sizes. The NX6110 makes use of Intel`s 915GM or 910GM Express chipset and features an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with up to 128MB of video memory.
"Multimedia enthusiasts will also be glad to know that this unit includes a 6-in-1 card reader, plus a 15-inch screen and weighs a mere 2.7kg," McMillan explains.
In the Enterprise Series segment, HP has introduced several new units, namely the NC8230, NW8240, NC6120, NC6220 and NC4200. McMillan says the entire spectrum of form factors, right from performance mobility, to true mobility and ultra mobility have been well covered.
"The NC8230 is in many ways similar to the NX8220 in the value segment, with the added benefit of a three-year warranty over the one-year warranty offered as well as additional processor options," McMillan says. "Next in line, the NW8240 sports additional graphics performance over the NC8230 with an ATI Mobility FireGL V5000 with either 128MB or 64MB of dedicated video memory."
Moving on to the True Mobility segment, HP has released two new notebooks, namely the NC6120 and NC6220. The two models are similar with the exception that the NC6220 has an ambient light sensor and a standard three-year warranty, whereas the NC6120 has the option of a one- or three-year warranty.
"Both units come with a 14.1-inch monitor, a choice of processors, RAM capacities and drive sizes, as well as an Intel 915GM chipset, 6-in-1 card reader and up to 128MB of video memory for Intel`s Graphics Media Accelerator 900.
"Lastly, looking at HP`s ultra mobile unit, namely the NC4200, users gain access to a choice of Pentium M processors, different RAM and drive capacities, and the same refinements as the other units in the Enterprise Series line, but with a 12.1-inch screen and tiny form factor that weighs a mere 1.8kg," McMillan says.
"While these new HP units offer users reliability and the best performance money can buy, what truly sets the new range apart from its predecessors is the fact that all units support a single set of power adapters, docking stations and accessories, a factor which makes life far easier for both customers and their resellers," McMillan says.
"This common set of accessories is also a massive boon for executives when travelling abroad, since they are almost guaranteed of availability wherever they are and have the ability to use other HP notebook users` accessories with peace of mind," McMillan concludes.
