HP South Africa remains committed to addressing the needs of the SOHO market, particularly those making their first network infrastructure investment, with the Intel-based HP Server tc2110.
Says Jeffery Yu, product manager for Industry Standard Servers at HP SA: "This product offers the right mixture of price and performance for a smaller business that needs a workhorse server. We have concentrated heavily on the ease of use and administration features to create a product that is a good match for companies that have minimal in-house IT support.
"Networking and installation are trouble-free. Tool-free entry and removal of all major components and front-accessible hard drives allow you to perform most services without calling a technician. The product allows smaller companies to focus on their business rather than their technology."
The HP Server tc2110 delivers server-grade power with an Intel Pentium 4 processor, a 400MHz front-side bus, and up to 1.5Gb of error checking and correcting (ECC) SDRAM memory. It also features support for both SCSI and IDE hard disk drives, as well as Ultra3 SCSI technology.
Says Yu: "The product is an entry-level server at the price of a desktop. It easily hosts lightweight applications, provides fast Internet access, and efficiently performs file and print services.
"When your business grows and it`s time to increase your computing capacity, the HP Server tc2110 can be easily upgraded with up to 240GB of internal mass storage capacity, six storage shelves, and memory that`s expandable to 1.5Gb."
