HP strengthens printing portfolio

In an effort to help customers drive down costs and increase efficiencies, HP has expanded its large-format portfolio, reports Cad Cam News.

This expansion includes a range of new workgroup and multifunction printers, software solutions and media choices to address the needs of office users, IT managers and production operators.

With advanced options to integrate into IT-managed network infrastructure environments, the new products, solutions and large-format papers provide geographic information systems, architecture, engineering and construction and mechanical computer-aided design workgroups.

Zoran has released IPS System 2009.1, the latest version of its IPS page description language (PDL) interpreter solution for printers and multifunction peripherals, reports Earth Times.

The new software features acceleration on Zoran's Quatro processors and incorporates numerous other enhancements, including improved printing of multiple pages per sheet, support for the latest version of PDF and improved performance.

Many manufacturers of monochrome and colour print devices are demanding that hardware and software component solutions be more tightly integrated to ensure enhanced performance, easy integration and fast time to market.

Kodak care kits, previously available for Kodak, Bowe Bell and Howell scanners, will now help resellers to provide users of Canon, Fujitsu and Panasonic scanners with a more comprehensive service package to lower IT costs and increase reliability, according to Business Solutions.

Kodak's multi-vendor service care kits allow resellers to give their end-users access to on-site calls and labour, unlimited service calls, and replacement parts.

“Value-added resellers increasingly need to provide their end-user customers with services that help protect their technology investments, lower the total cost of ownership and provide maximum product availability,” says J Patrick Welch, director of US service sales and worldwide business development, document imaging, and business solutions and services at Kodak.
