HP teases with 3D printing tech
Daily Tech reports.
HP may have recently trashed its TouchPad tablet and accompanying webOS platform, but that does not mean it is giving up on mobile technologies for good.
According to PCWorld, this new range of printers and scanners emphasises Web-connected printing and advanced scanning.
A new scanning technology, HP TopShot Scanning, captures six images of a document or 3D object, and combines them to create one high-quality image suitable for print or Web. The first printer with this technology, the HP TopShot Laserjet Pro M275, is 'coming soon', and will retail for $349.
IT Pro Portal states the company also introduced two new printer series targeted at SMEs. The HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One series and the HP Officejet Pro ePrinter are capable of dishing out colour images at 50% less per page cost than laser printers.
The printers also come with support for ePrint technology that allows users to give print commands from their mobile devices to the printers. The new ePrint technology will now come with Wireless Direct, which will allow a mobile device to connect to a printer on the same peer-to-peer WiFi technology.
