HP unveils business notebook line

HP has introduced nine business notebooks designed for corporate and small to medium-size enterprise business customers, reports Advertiser Talk.

The notebook range offers various models to replace aging desktops, workstations and notebooks. The notebooks feature numerous configurable options and office and multimedia applications to assist small business professionals.

HP is offering businesses 0% vendor-direct financing plans for the HP ProBook and HP lines through HP Financial Services, the company's leasing and life cycle management services subsidiary.

iSuppli predicts notebook sales growth

A survey by iSuppli predicts worldwide sales of notebook computers will grow by 25% in 2010, writes Smart Office.

The report compares with the 22% rise predicted by IDC, which put the total number of portable PC sales for 2010 in at 204.9 million units.

iSupply says the netbook market will total 34.5 million units, up 30%. CULV notebooks, which contain lower-powered chips with larger displays than netbooks, will grow to 14.5 million units, while notebooks will be up 21% to reach 160.5 million units.

All-in-one desktops on the rise

Computer manufacturers Dell, Acer and Lenovo are working on desktop PC designs which they call the all-in-one PC, states The Economic Times.

All-in-one PCs are desktop computers where the CPU and storage has been integrated into the monitor. The will help revive the desktop PC market in India, which has been reduced due to affordable laptop and netbook sales.

“The desktop PC market, which became very boring, is suddenly getting a lot of fizz with the roll-out of all-in-one PCs,” says Mahesh Bhalla, Dell India executive director and GM. “The way the segment is growing, all-in-one PCs can indeed lead a revival in desktop PC sales.”
