HP unveils iPhone-friendly printers

HP has unveiled a range in its Photosmart printers line featuring improved wireless support for Apple iPhone and iPod touch users and HP's own 'TouchSmart' technology, reports TechRadar.

The HP Photosmart C4680 is billed as a solution for home-based scanning, copying and printing, letting users view photos and documents for printing on the machine's colour display.

"The HP TouchSmart frame includes a 3.7cm colour display screen with touch buttons on the left and right sides of the screen for easy navigation through the printing process," says the company.

Xeikon, a division of Punch Graphix, will be exhibiting at the upcoming Print 09 event, one of the largest global graphic communications exhibitions, taking place in Chicago from 11 to 16 September, states What They Think.

At the event, Xeikon will demonstrate the Xeikon 8000, the company's flagship digital colour press, as well as featuring a dedicated label and packaging area.

The Xeikon 8000's high-precision LED-based imaging head features 1200dpi resolution and 1200 x 3600dpi addressability with variable dot density, and the new imaging technology makes use of the powerful Pericles screening library, allowing screen rulings up to 240 lpi.

Available in four models, the Delta 105 greyscale printer will be on display for the first time at key North American and European trade shows during the month of September.
