HP has announced a new set of services that help organisations respond to, remediate and mitigate the impact of security breaches as they occur.

The HP Security Breach Management Solution utilises HP services and security intelligence software to more quickly identify a security breach and react to it, as well as minimise its impact and reduce ongoing exposure from vulnerabilities.

"No matter how proactive you are, it's nearly impossible for organisations to prevent a breach, but they can take control of how they respond," said Helen Rich, country manager, enterprise services, HP.

The solution also features the new HP Forensic Readiness Service, which helps organisations establish and procedures surrounding forensic investigations, says HP.

Clients will be equipped with the resources to quickly gather the best-quality evidence in the event of an attack and can apply these policies and procedures to gather and document evidence when the next attack occurs.

The solution also features services that span the entire security life cycle, ranging from proactive planning and risk management strategies, to immediate response measures, the company says.

In addition, the solution will feature the HP Breach Response Service, which provides monitoring to detect and respond to intrusions; HP Digital Forensic Services, which will assist in developing sets of processes and policies for the collection and analysis of evidence following security incidents; HP e-Disclosure and e-Discovery Services, which will assist organisations in adhering to regulatory compliance for use in legal investigations and audits; HP Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Services, which will collect, log, sort and filter relevant security events; and HP Data Recovery Services, which assists in backup and data recovery.
