HP updates FlexNetwork

Tech giant, HP Networking revealed at the New York Interop that it has updated its FlexNetwork family with new hardware and software, reports CloudPro.

HP claims its converged networking products can address the needs of cloud builders, simplify migration to 10Gb networking, and make it easier to safely connect users' own mobile devices.

Market Watch explains the HP Networking solutions for virtualisation, multimedia applications and enterprise mobility simplify migration to newer Internet protocols, the 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) networking standard and virtualised branch services.

“Enterprises need a simpler networking infrastructure that's scalable and flexible to keep pace with the dynamic needs of business applications,” says Bethany Mayer, senior VP and GM, HP Networking.

For campus environments, the HP 3800 stackable switches were designed to have 3ms latency through campus applications that require less jitter (such as video and voice), says Channel Insider.

HP compares its product directly to Cisco, noting a 450% increase in stacking throughput, 76% lower latency, and 122% higher 10GbE density.
