HP South Africa has unveiled three professional inkjet printers that boost productivity while delivering outstanding results for both home and office use, in a PC and Mac environment.
The new printers are the HP Deskjet 959c, the HP Deskjet 980cxi professional series and the HP Deskjet 990c m series with the new speeds going up to 17 pages per minute.
"HP continues to meet growing consumer demands for products that deliver ever-increasing price/performance," says Ashley Flinders, HP product development manager, printing and imaging solutions.
"These new printers output at mid-range laser printer speeds, and offer functionality, such as high-resolution photo-quality printing that was once addressed by niche products, yet they cost up to 12% less that the products they replace."
Designed for professional home and office users who frequently print high-quality photo images, the HP Deskjet 959c has a built-in additional 10 x 15cm photo paper tray allowing users to print photo images without switching paper. Featuring a high performance print engine and numerous smart features, the HP Deskjet 959c is the perfect printer for photo intensive applications, producing ultimate photo-quality output.
The HP Deskjet 980cxi professional series printer and the 990c m series printer provide built-in two-sided printing for automatic printing on both sides of the page, using less paper, saving money and helping users to be more environmentally friendly. Maximum productivity comes from High Performance ArchitectureTM (HPA).
Previous inkjet printer platforms relied on the host computer for image processing and data formatting, HPA performs both of these key functions in the printer hardware using a 96MHz dedicated RISC processor.
Both printers feature a new optical paper sensing technology exclusive to HP. The printer will detect the type of paper in the paper tray and adjust the print settings automatically. However, customers can still select paper type and print settings manually.
The HP DeskJet 990c m series printer has been designed specifically for Mac users in high-end home and office. Its wireless printing from mobile device combines stylish silver design with outstanding print quality and speed.

Ultimate photo-quality All three printers use HP`s advanced Photoret III precision technology for natural looking photos and include a photo mode that offers 2400 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) on HP photo papers. Photography enthusiast will be pleased to use HP Colorfast paper, a breakthrough HP photo paper with high fade resistant properties.

The HP Deskjet 980cxi professional printer, the HP Deskjet 990c m series printer and the HP Deskjet 959c printer all use the HP No. 78 tri-colour and the HP No. 45 black inkjet print cartridges. The printers use a full range of HP media. Two types of papers that professional users will find particularly useful are HP Premium Inkjet Coated Paper, ideal for presentations, projects and important client correspondence and HP Colourfast Paper, a breakthrough photo paper with even higher fade resistant properties. HP Colourfast paper is designed for the digital photography enthusiast who wants printed images for permanent display.
