HR outsourcing booms

HR outsourcing companies in the UK have predicted a spike in demand for their services after the election as the public sector faces huge efficiency drives and budget cuts, writes People Management magazine.

Sue Rippin, business development manager at HR software and services provider NorthgateArinso, says she expects to see a “sudden influx of business in the next six to nine months”.

She highlights local authorities and their related public bodies as areas primed for growth in outsourcing.

iTrent rescues fire fighters

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has signed a five-year contract for a payroll, talent and performance management solution: MidlandHR's iTrent, writes Personnel Today.

Arthur Elstone, project manager at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, comments: “As one of the largest fire services in the UK, it is vital for us to have one single, efficient HR, payroll and talent management solution which can cope with the varied requirements of the service and our strategy going forward.”

He says his company is looking forward to the day when iTrent goes live and it starts to benefit from streamlined workflow and comprehensive reporting abilities.

Panasonic intros payroll solution

Panasonic Europe has introduced a new payroll and hosted HR system which will be available to five Panasonic companies based across three UK offices, states Employee Benefits.

The system, called ResourceLink Aurora and supplied by NorthgateArinso, is accessible through a Web browser and does not require any on-premise footprint.

Richard Mills, head of UK HR and facilities for Panasonic Europe, says: “Deploying ResourceLink Aurora in the UK is a key step towards realising our vision for efficient HR delivery at Panasonic.
