Red Wing launches Express eFiling
Accounting and payroll software provider Red Wing Software is introducing a service that will allow users to file and access W-2s online anytime, states WebCPA.
Express eFiling works directly from Red Wing Software payroll products and is provided by Red Wing Software's e-filing partner, Aatrix. To use the new service, users generate W-2 information directly from their Red Wing Software payroll program to an electronic W-2 form. The completed form is then sent electronically to Aatrix, which files the W-2s with the appropriate state and federal agencies.
Once filed, W-2s can be distributed immediately to current and former employees via a secure Web site. Express eFile service is available in four of Red Wing's payroll products: CenterPoint Payroll, Red Wing Payroll, Controller Payroll and Perception Payroll.
LA Unified's paycheque problems persist
About 5 000 Los Angeles teachers and other employees are expected to receive inaccurate paycheques today, marking another month of persistent problems with a new computerised payroll system, reports Los Angeles Times.
Superintendent David Brewer cautioned employees, who have so far been overpaid by $53 million, not to spend the money as the Los Angeles Unified School District prepares to recoup it.
As in past months, the vast majority of the mistakes are overpayments; about 300 others are underpayments, school district officials said. The number of errors this month showed no decline from the last two paydays.
