HSBC helps SMEs

Foreign lender HSBC has launched a product for small to medium-sized (SME) businesses in India after it met with success in the UK and Northern Ireland, says Telegraph India.

The new product will take care of the daily needs from anywhere via Internet, telephone and self-service machines.

HSBC CEO and country head Naina Lal Kidwai said, "We are constrained by a limited branch in India. But technology is helping us to be right there with customers."

SMEs must use SaaS

SMEs eyeing unified communications (UC) should consider the software as a service (SaaS) approach, a panel of UC experts said on a Web broadcast, reports Internet News.

Among the advantages, the panellists listed cost savings, the elimination of integration hurdles and the opportunity SaaS gives to make enterprise mobility a reality.

One factor fostering SME UC adoption is users' increasing comfort with tools such as instant messaging, social and mobility applications, said Simon Edwards, UC project director, British Telecom.

TAK achieves SME specialisation

TAK Technology, a technical solutions and managed services company, has achieved SME Specialization and Select Certification from Cisco, writes Market Wire.

The SME Specialization and Select Certification recognises Cisco resale channel partners, including TAK Technology, whose primary focus is on the SME market with fewer than 250 employees.

To earn Cisco SME Specialization and Select Certification, TAK Technology fulfilled training and exam requirements. It also met the personnel, training, and post-sales support requirements set forth by Cisco.
