HTC MTeoR: Very smart, very stylish, world first

The HTC MTeoR 3G Smartphone takes a giant leap forward for mobile phones as the world's first 3G Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone.

Its slim and compact design makes it the ultimate pocket handset. It may be small, just 112.4 x 49 x 14.8mm and weighing a mere 120g, but this neat device is a powerful and very "smart" phone with stellar performance thanks to its 300MHz Samsung 2442 processor.

The HTC MTeoR, available from HTC's African marketing, distribution and service partner Leaf Wireless, features Windows Mobile 5.0 Direct Push technology for immediate synchronisation of e-mail, calendar and notes, plus document viewers for PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It's the ideal choice for busy people on the road who only want to carry one compact device.

"The MTeoR is already in strong demand," says Quinton Leigh, Managing Director of Leaf Wireless. "Early feedback has been very positive with features like the ease of one-handed operation and speed earning praise from our customers.

With superb multimedia functionality it's easy to store and play back music, video and pictures on the move. Multimedia support includes a 1.3-Megapixel camera and a built-in microphone and speaker with support for popular audio formats including MP3, WMA, AAC and more. The generous 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM can be supplemented through a MicroSD slot.

A large 2.2-inch TFT LCD screen makes for easy reading of e-mail and office documents, as well as being great for video playback. The user interface sports a jog wheel for up/down scrolling with push-to-select, and two software-defined function buttons, to create an easy user experience.

Connectivity is via 3G, HSDPA, Bluetooth, Infrared IrDA and MiniUSB connectivity.

For the business user, the MTeoR supports Direct Push e-mail technology for immediate delivery and update of e-mail, calendar and task information from Microsoft Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2. Functionality is rounded out with video recording, voice dialling, and support for MMS and Java applications.

With sleek compact design and connectivity via 3G, HSDPA, Bluetooth, Infrared IrDA and MiniUSB, the MTeoR truly has smart style.
