Huawei, a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced the arrival in Nairobi, Kenya of the Mobile Broadband (MBB) Huawei Truck for the second leg of its sub-Saharan road show.
From 16 to 18 August, Huawei has demonstrated its innovative mobile broadband end-to-end solutions, including the latest mobile broadband access, 150Mbps bandwidth LTE, IP backhaul, IP + Optical backbone, packet core, smart terminals, software and applications, security and storage, and managed services solutions, to customers in Kenya.
The MBB road show underlines Huawei's role of enabling migration to mobile broadband networks, driven by rising demand for broadband services, new generation of smartphones, new Web 2.0 applications, and flat rate “all-you-can-eat” data plans.
“The end-to-end MBB solution will benefit the operator through advanced technologies to match operator leading strategy, better user experience to increase subscribers' volume, largely reduce network costs, and dominate the value chain to share the revenue of new business model. MBB will not only increase ARPU, but also reduce cost per bit, so it will guarantee the operator's return on investment,” said Herman He, Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Kenya.
During the Kenya tour, Huawei invited local customers and partners to visit the truck and have hands-on experience with mobile broadband technologies and multi-player services, facilitating technology transfer for the local talents. A live demo of the just launched U8220 Android handset was also available.
As an enjoyable user experience is the key for operators to differentiate their services from their competitors, the equipment on the truck simulates real networks to enable customers to experience the services as though they were the end-users.
The sub-Sahara MBB road show is a further sign of Huawei's steady commitment to the region. Its investment in sub-Sahara has been steadily increasing since 2000, with Huawei products already deployed in more than 40 sub-Saharan countries. From Kenya, the tour will go to Nigeria, Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire.
