PTCL (Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited) has selected Huawei Technologies as its strategic partner for deployment of a national-wide CDMA450 WLL (Wireless Local Loop) network in Pakistan.
This project will offer telecom service for 220K subscribers. Based on long-term partnership, this project is another important cooperation after Huawei helped to build PTCL`s national DWDM backbone network, national FIN, international Gateway and Integrated Access Network, etc.
Currently, the teledensity in Pakistan is 3.5%. In order to improve the permeation of telecom service and solve the problem of universal service, the Pakistan government demanded the realisation of "telephone to villages".
As the biggest telecom operator in Pakistan, PTCL took on the social responsibility. After an in-depth study of various vendors` solutions, PTCL eventually chose Huawei`s cost-effective CDMA450 WLL total solution. Based on the most advanced technologies, Huawei`s CDMA450 WLL system features broad coverage, low investment and quick deployment, fully meeting the requirements of the operator.
This CDMA450 WLL network will cover most of the villages and towns in Pakistan, providing high-quality voice services and high-rate data services and other value-added services such as PPC (prepaid charging), wireless public telephone, SMS (short message service), etc.
