Hyperion has announced a co-development agreement with Hackett Benchmarking Solutions, part of AnswerThink Consulting Group, to develop packaged analytic applications for benchmarking. Management will be able to fine-tune enterprise performance by modelling "what if" scenarios based on international best practices.
Mark Williams of Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI), a division of JSE-listed Global Technology, sees this as further extending the range of Hyperion`s on-line analytical (OLAP) solutions. "This supports the company`s enterprise performance management (EPM) strategy that will result in a range of solutions that will fulfil every business intelligence requirement for strategic planning and performance management."
These solutions will integrate external benchmarking data into Hyperion Enterprise, the enterprise-wide financial reporting and consolidation software.
Organisations will be able to create an enterprise-wide knowledge base for optimising business performance, with a strong, real-time context for strategic planning and performance measurement. This will feed into continuous business process improvement initiatives, the identification of specific growth opportunities and companies will be able to establish "reality-based" targets for enterprise performance management using financial and non-financial parameters.
