Hyperion has again been named the number one provider of multidimensional analysis/OLAP technology, based on worldwide 2001 software licence and maintenance revenues. This is according to the latest report from analyst company IDC. Hyperion beat a number of competitors to come in first again this year in a category it pioneered.
"Leading the field in OLAP is an important measure of the value Hyperion`s customers attach to its technology," says Johan Cloete, CEO of local Hyperion distributor GBI, the Business Intelligence division of JSE Securities Exchange-listed Global Technology.
"However, the real significance of OLAP is how it helps power the new business performance management solutions customers are using to aid continuous business improvement, and to respond quickly to changing environments. The end result is that customers are better able to align results with strategy."
Hyperion invented OLAP technology and continues to feature the technology in its market-leading Hyperion Essbase XTD business intelligence platform. Hyperion Essbase XTD is an essential element of Hyperion`s Business Performance Management Suite, which customers are using continuously to measure performance, drive growth and profitability and anticipate where their business is going.
Using business performance management, Hyperion customers are better able to align plans with strategy, establish accountability and gain an integral understanding of their total business performance in order to drive results.
