Hyperion partners with IBM for Information Server support

Johannesburg, 29 Mar 2007

Hyperion, distributed locally by Intellient, an EOH company, is to partner with IBM to support the new IBM Information Server through Hyperion System 9's open data integration strategy.

Hyperion and IBM will work together to extract and integrate information from multiple sources to support critical business performance management initiatives such as business intelligence (BI), master data management (MDM); and risk and compliance.

"Hyperion System 9 leverages Information Server's data integration capabilities to obtain the right data at the right time, and so provides users with deep insight into the enterprise, enables goal setting, monitoring of the business, and planning for future success," says Marc Scheepbouwer, MD of Intellient.

"IBM Information Server helps organisations develop a unified view of their businesses by enabling them to understand existing data sources, integrate disparate data, and cleanse, correct and standardise information."

As both a data provider and information consumer, Hyperion System 9 can leverage the full power of IBM's Information Server via service-oriented architectures (SOA) that support open standards. By doing so, the integrated solution supports end-to-end impact analysis between data flows to and from Hyperion System 9 applications with other sources and targets supported by IBM Information Server. The result is access to changes in underlying sources, targets and integration processes that can be quickly understood and accurately reflected in business applications.

"We are pleased to support the new IBM Information Server through our open integration strategy," Scheepbouwer says. "IBM Information Server helps customers understand, consolidate and integrate data across Hyperion System 9 and other enterprise systems, driving enterprise-wide performance improvement."

Pete Fiore, VP of IBM Information Integration Solutions, says: "By collaborating with Hyperion, we can help customers leverage their existing investments and unlock the value of their information. IBM Information Server provides customers access to consistent, complete and trustworthy information that Hyperion uses to enable a more complete understanding of the business."
