Hyperion reaffirms commitment to distribution agreement with Glotec`s GBI

In an announcement released in London today, Hyperion, the global leader in business performance management software, reaffirmed its commitment to its existing distribution agreement with Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSE Securities Exchange-listed Global Technology Limited (Glotec).

Hyperion also announced that it was fully committed to continuing to mutually develop the burgeoning business performance management (BPM) software market in SA.

According to Craig Manning, managing director, EMEA Partners at Hyperion: "Hyperion has played a key role in supporting Glotec through challenging times in the last year, and we are pleased to see that the company has reached agreement with its major financiers, to convert the debt owed by the company into Glotec equity. Our continuing commitment to our distribution agreement in SA with GBI, and in turn Glotec, has been rewarded with higher sales and increasing traction for our BPM solutions. Hyperion and GBI therefore intend to continue to work together to develop further strategic partnerships in the region, and to ensure that SA leads the world in the adoption of the BPM technology. We look forward to realising the full strategic and financial potential of this business combination, with the goal of further expanding our leadership in the BPM category."

GBI`s Chief Executive Officer, Marc Scheepbouwer, believes that, as a result of the ongoing, successful partnership between the two organisations, BPM is fast becoming a widely accepted business principle in the South African market and is starting to be seen as a business requirement in GBI`s growing client base. He adds: "Our ability to deliver world-class BPM solutions, through our partnership with Hyperion, has assisted GBI in sustaining its growth during 2003.
