For the second consecutive year, Meta Group`s METAspectrum Business Performance Management Software evaluation has ranked global business performance management (BPM) software provider Hyperion as a leader in its field.
Meta Group is a research and consulting firm that focuses on IT and business transformation strategies. The METAspectrum evaluation presents an objective assessment of companies providing business performance management solutions.
"Hyperion scored an excellent rating in several key categories, including company financials, domain knowledge, management team expertise and ability to execute on its vision," says Marc Scheepbouwer, CEO of local Hyperion distributor Global Technology Business Intelligence (GBI). "The evaluation notes Hyperion`s advanced balanced scorecard functionality; sophisticated modelling capabilities; robust analytics; direct data path from existing ERP or other legacy systems; and its easy-to-use navigation environment."
The METAspectrum report indicates that Hyperion`s products, including its financial consolidation, planning and budgeting, business modelling, scorecarding, dashboarding, reporting and analysis tools are well positioned in the overall market.

Business planning must be a continuous and event-driven management process that is based on a detailed understanding of factors that drive future performance, Scheepbouwer says. On-demand monitoring of performance drivers must provide greater visibility into operational performance.
BPM involves business intelligence, process-rich applications and a business intelligence platform for developing, deploying and integrating information and applications such as performance scorecarding; business modelling and optimisation; budgeting, planning and forecasting; performance monitoring; dashboarding and analytics; enterprise-class querying; analysis and reporting; and financial consolidation applications.
The end goal of BPM is to build a performance-accountable organisation in which all individuals, at all levels, work collaboratively towards the same goals, Scheepbouwer says.
