Johannesburg, 19 May 2000

Novell has announced that I-Fusion was once again appointed as a Novell Business Expert. Novell appointed 22 business experts throughout the country and the criteria for this prestigious award is high technical expertise and commitment.

Phillip Potgieter, Novell pre-sales consultant at I-Fusion says "By focussing on customer needs, I-Fusion is able to give advice to customers to the best Novell solutions available to them. This process is implemented at the start of negotiations between the customer and salesperson, and continues right through to the point where the process of advising and installing is concluded and signed off. I-Fusion goes in with a team of experts who provide the customer with a solution."

Potgieter adds that taking a Novell major account manager with to a customer is imperative. "As a team, we can ascertain what the customer requires as well as what Novell can offer within its product range to satisfy these needs

The direction changed for Novell as being an operating house to being a solutions provider. Novell Directory Services (NDS) is one of the reasons why Novell is doing so well. "Thanks to NDS and Novell Application Launcher, implementing new applications can be done at a fraction of the time. In an environment undergoing such a high degree of business change, this level of agility is key," says Potgieter.

According to Novell Distribution Manager, Hanli Wood, "With change comes opportunity. NDS helps preserve some of the most valuable resources, namely the time (and cost) required for desktop support. Administrators simply define applications that are accessible to each user. As users log into NDS, they receive a consistent set of application icons - along with their personal and shared ."

Novell Solutions are time-tested. They`re designed to work together and proven in the real world of mix-and-match heterogeneity.
