I-Fusion brings improved business efficiencies to Magnum Shield

Johannesburg, 14 Jun 2004

Bidvest`s network solutions company, I-Fusion, has signed a three year contract worth R3,6-million to install a wide area network (WAN) for Magnum Shield.

Says Bennie Bester, sales and marketing director, I-Fusion, "Initially the WAN will consist of fifteen sites on a national basis on which new business applications will run, significantly improving operational efficiencies. ADSL lines will be installed across the network backbone, providing low-cost high-bandwidth connectivity for email and Internet access. The WAN will be used for point-to-point networking."

Magnum Shield`s core business is manpower security, warehouse management and alarm monitoring. The business efficiencies Magnum was looking for from the WAN include centralization of applications and information systems. In addition, the company requires huge bandwidth to improve the flow of information.

Riaan Lucas, group IT manager, Magnum Shield, says, "Being part of the Bidvest group, we obviously look at purchasing from group companies. Nevertheless, I-Fusion`s pricing and services were found to be competitive and well placed in the market place."
