Concorde Travel has signed a R3,1 million contract with I-Fusion to implement a new WAN environment for its branches throughout South Africa. Franchise branches will come on board in the next few months. I-Fusion will monitor and maintain business critical links to Galileo to keep Concorde Travel operational, with direct links running from BIDNet`s network straight into Galileo for the reservations.
The contract includes hosting Concorde Travel`s mail server and Internet access through the I-Fusion ASP (Application Service Provider) centre. The biggest benefit to Concorde Travel is that it is moving to a platform independent environment, which has WAN and IT infrastructure cost savings. Other benefits include better visibility of its wide area network links, increased Service Level Agreements and the ability to interact with I-Fusion`s 24 x 7 Command Centre. Concorde Travel has purchased a brand new Cisco based network from I-Fusion, which will give it the ability to prioritise traffic for better mission critical business application response and the ability to run voice over data.
I-Fusion was chosen due to its national presence, its understanding of the travel industry, as well WAN outsourcing and ASP environment, with the ability to provide high end technical resources. I-Fusion is the only service provider with the ability to provide multi service networking like voice over data through its backbone, due to Concorde Travel and I-Fusion being part of the Bidvest group.
