I-Fusion wins Value Logistics contract

Johannesburg, 14 Jul 2004

Isando-based Value Logistics has outsourced its entire wide area network (WAN) to Bidvest`s network solutions company, I-Fusion.

With 74 branches and sub depots countrywide, Value Logistics required a comprehensive contract, which includes network management, line management and stringent quality of service spanning the entire network. This includes all server and application hosting, as well as monitoring of all servers, back up and redundancy.

"Because we are so reliant on our network, we have also contracted I-Fusion to roll out new Cisco equipment to all our branches including full Internet connectivity within our organisation," said Steven Gottschalk, CEO, Value Logistics.

"The deal includes full maintenance on all the WAN equipment. The state-of-the-art MPLS network will be voice ready, using the latest Cisco voice platform. One of the conditions of the contract is that there is no interruption of operations," said Gottschalk.

"Implementing a network of this magnitude on a state of the art MPLS backbone infrastructure ensures business continuity and has a measurable business outcome for Value Logistics." said Bennie Bester, sales and marketing director, I-Fusion.
